CLARITY STARTS WITH TRANSPARENCY

About us

Company car tax should feel understandable before you commit to a car. That is the purpose of this independent UK calculator.

A clearer starting point for your decision

A fleet quote can make the car look straightforward. Then come the P11D value, emissions band and tax percentage. We bring those figures together so you can see an estimated monthly cost and understand how it was calculated.

BIK Tax Calculator is designed for employees, directors and employers comparing company vehicles across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It is an independent information tool, with no affiliation to HMRC, Toyota or Lexus.

How the figures are built

The calculator applies published HMRC percentages to the details you enter. It separates the taxable benefit from employee Income Tax and employer Class 1A National Insurance. It also shows private fuel benefit and a separate full-year van estimate.

Our methodology and source list explain the arithmetic and link directly to official guidance. The current implementation has checks for electric cars, hybrid range boundaries, diesel supplements, contribution limits and part-year use. These are software checks, not independent professional certification.

Example figures are illustrative. They are not manufacturer quotations, customer experiences or personalised recommendations. Tax rates are labelled by tax year; publication dates do not imply continuous monitoring.

Our review of BIK Tax Calculator

Useful for a first comparison; limited for a final payroll decision.

The platform’s strongest feature is the separation of monthly employee tax, the taxable car benefit and employer NI. That helps answer a practical question: “What am I paying, and what is my employer paying?” The option to compare three scenarios makes a shortlist easier to assess.

The main limitation is its selected-rate approach. It does not calculate your entire Income Tax position, so crossing a tax band or losing Personal Allowance can change the result. It also relies on the vehicle details you supply. There is no registration lookup or live Toyota or Lexus price feed.

Our view: use it to understand the numbers and compare like-for-like scenarios, then confirm the chosen car and payroll treatment before signing an agreement.

This is the platform’s own assessment, not an independent review or a customer testimonial. No star rating, customer count or external endorsement is claimed.

Accuracy and editorial standards

Official tax guidance takes priority over promotional claims. Material assumptions are stated near the results, and specialist cases are identified in the disclaimer. We do not claim that every tax situation is covered or that an accountant has approved the site.

The pages and calculator were prepared with AI assistance. Published calculations should be checked against the linked HMRC sources, especially before a financial decision. No named professional reviewer or tax-adviser credentials have been supplied for this release.
